There is not a lot of room underneath the rear seats of a 2004 - 2008 Ford F150 SuperCrew for mounting subwoofers. Q Logic comes to the rescue with the QLF-FTX210. This dual 10" sealed enclosure mounts under the rear seats without giving up any passenger space or comfort.The enclosure utilizes boundary loading by firing the woofers into the floorboard. Boundary loading increases the output and extends the lowest frequencies which greatly enhance the performance of your subwoofers. Through careful testing, we determine the exact height necessary to lift the enclosure off the floor to achieve the maximum results. MDF construction and sturdy mounting platforms combine to give you a rock-solid enclosure. The center transmission hump is even incorporated into the design providing another "boundary" location as well as reinforcement of the enclosure itself. Careful enclosure design and precise manufacturing allow for maximum mounting depth in a very tight location. The enclosure wraps itself around the factory seat hinge utilizing every bit of available air space without compromising passenger room or comfort.Installation is easy. This enclosure requires relocating the factory jack which is installed under the passenger side rear seat. The jack mounting bracket is bolted onto the floor board so removal and relocation are within everyone's skill level. Once the jack is removed, install your woofers using the specially designed MDF screws provided with your enclosure, run speaker leads from your amplifier to the terminal cups, slide the custom-fit enclosure under the seats and you are done. It is a known fact that in order to create a 50% increase in your sub bass system you would need to double the power. For example, if you are hitting 135 dB's with an amp that produces 500 watts of RMS power, in order to hit 138 dB's (50% louder) you would need 1000 watts of RMS power. Taking it one step further, to double your dB''s (increase of 6 dB) you would need an additional 2000 watts of RMS power. Sealed subwoofer boxes tend to be much smaller than ported enclosures, since they use the air inside the box as a "spring" for the enclosure. If you do not have much space, it would be a good idea to go with a sealed box. Not only is there a size difference, but there is also a difference in sound compared to a ported box. Generally, the larger the box, the lower the tone of the bass achieved. However if the box gets too large, the "spring" effect that the air creates may be lost, losing loudness and crispness. Sealed enclosures produce tight, accurate bass and have a flat frequency response curve. They are the enclosure of choice when quality is the ultimate goal of the system set up.
